Can’t Wait to Unbox the New Fat Tire Folding Electric Bike. Let Mom Enjoy the Riding Again!

Folding bikes are commonly seen in daily life, and electric bikes are also used to travel on roads of all sizes. However, due to the inconvenience of parking bicycles and electric vehicles, shared bikes have emerged in recent years. But we often find that when we need to use them, we cannot find any shared bikes available.

My mother works at a donut shop and works for more than 14 hours a day. The busy schedule leaves her no time to consider other means of transportation. I have been searching for a comfortable electric bicycle for her that fits her 5 feet 1 inch height.

Luckily, a few days ago I ordered a HiPeak Elias folding fat tire electric bike for her, which has helped to eliminate a series of troubles and inconveniences for my mother. This lightweight and foldable bicycle can be easily placed at home, on buses, or on subways.

Why choose an electric bike for mom?

Electric bicycles allow our family to travel further and explore more places. However, many cyclists still shy away from them because they believe that motor assistance is cheating, and I agree with this. Cycling is both a form of exercise and a leisure activity: some people challenge their physical abilities, while others prefer to explore the outdoors in a more leisurely way and spend time with family and friends. It was when I experienced leg cramps during a painful bike ride home that I began to appreciate electric bicycles - the electric assistance was a great help in the last few miles of uphill and on the return journey with tired legs. Therefore, older mothers need electric assistance even more.

Unpacking HiPeak Elias

When a large shipping box was placed in front of me, the packaging was generally sturdy, with only slight damage to the pedal part! After unpacking, the packaging was still tightly sealed, and the vulnerable parts were well protected. The entire bike was almost fully assembled, so there was no need to worry too much, just attach the pedals and other accessories! The bike weighs 28kg and can be easily pushed into elevators or subways, making it very convenient.

Elias folding electric bike

  • 750W motor to help with steep slopes
  • stage Pedal Assist System (PAS)
  • Step-thru design for short women to get on and off the bike
  • Comfortable ride with front shock absorbers
  • Fat tires for more balance and control
  • Removable high-capacity battery for long rides and easy charging

I have searched for many electric bicycles on the market, and they are all designed for people who are at least 5 feet 3 inches tall. Some of them have poor battery life or small wheel diameters, which can make it uncomfortable for older women to ride.

Elias has superior performance

Elias is a 20-inch folding fat tire electric bike that immediately impressed me with its high-quality construction. The contents arrived intact and were well-protected with good foam padding in the right places. This bike weighs 28 kilograms, which to be honest, is not a significant advantage for a folding bike. However, it means that there is a bigger battery and a stronger motor.

The model adopts a 750W brushless hub motor, which provides high performance and brings you a strong, steady, and stable riding experience. You can feel the excitement as soon as you start riding. This bike is equipped with front and rear mechanical disc brakes, so you don't have to worry about continuous downhill braking, and the widened and thickened tires are also sufficient to cope with various complex road conditions.

The assembly was straightforward, although the instruction manual made me a bit nervous because its steps detailed how to assemble the various components of the front fork and front brake together. I recalled the frustration I experienced a year ago trying to figure out how to assemble all the small parts of a mechanical mountain bike. Fortunately, the handlebar, front fork, and brakes were already pre-assembled, and all I had to do was install the handlebars, attach the front wheel and front light to the front fork, install the seat and pedals, and then we were ready to go.

Thanks to its fat tires and front fork suspension, this bike can handle rough terrain smoothly, providing a clean, stable, and comfortable riding experience. Fat tires (with low pressure) perform better in snow and sand than road or mountain bike tires because they don't sink too much. In addition, the 750W motor is very powerful, even better than many mountain e-bikes. This means that sudden and rapid speed increases can sometimes feel a bit uncontrollable, but my mom was able to handle it well after riding for a few minutes. Yes, despite being only 5 feet 1 inch tall, she can comfortably get on and off the bike with no problems.

Elias is practical

Elias has a very clean and streamlined appearance, with cables well hidden. As I mentioned earlier, its weight of 28kg wouldn't be something my elderly mother would want to carry around. But with a slight adjustment, it can be made more manageable without compromising integrity and safety. Of course, you can also leave the bike as it is, as this would be simpler to operate.

When cruising around the nearby park and climbing a few hills, the fat tires made a very satisfying sound. By default, the pedal-assist (PAS) has 7 levels, with a top speed of 15.5 mph without the rider pedaling. Legally, e-bikes cannot go faster than 20 mph to be considered a Class 2 bike in the US, but fortunately, both my mother and I were able to keep the speed down to 20 mph. Whichever way you choose, be sure to check your local and state laws before pushing Elias to its maximum speed.

The electronic control device located on the handlebars is easy to use and can manage the front and rear lights, horn, PAS level, power, and LCD display. The screen is easy to read in direct sunlight and provides a good set of information, including battery and power assist level, speed (current, average, max), trip time, and odometer, etc. The screen also provides programming options to control various settings.

The 48V 15Ah high-capacity lithium-ion battery gives Elias a significant advantage over any bike I have encountered before. The more powerful motor has a longer running time: up to 60 miles on full electric mode, and even longer on pedal-assist mode. For exercise or health purposes, I prefer to pedal most of the time and only call upon the motor when needed to climb hills. This can be done by turning the throttle on the right side of the handlebars: the more it is turned, the more power is called upon as needed.

Elias has a high level of appearance

HiPeak Elias is a masterpiece in aesthetics, combining mini aesthetics with high-quality appearance, making every detail perfect. In addition to ensuring high-performance configurations, beauty-seekers choose folding electric bicycles that pursue high appearance value. Its light luxury appearance comes with a low-key price. Riding on the street, it can bring you a comfortable riding experience and make you the most eye-catching presence on the street.

An excellent folding electric bike is a machine that attracts attention and a travel companion that everyone loves. Elias only takes up 0.3 cubic meters, which can be placed anywhere in the office or trunk. When in use, it is safe and energy-saving. The built-in USB interface can easily connect digital products such as mobile phones, computers, and laptops, bid farewell to battery life worries. With such a high-value and high-performance folding e-bike that combines convenience and practicality, what reason do moms have to resist it?
